PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Treatment
Platelet Rich Plasma, or PRP, as it is known, is a process that helps smooth out fine lines and wrinkles in skin tissue, using your body’s own regenerative process! Plasma is extracted from an individual’s own blood. Platelets are separated out and injected back into the skin tissue. The PRP process is also done by spreading the plasma over an individual’s skin topically.
During the Micro-Needling process the Dermapen is run over the patient’s facial tissue creating thousands of microscopic channels through the skin. The body quickly rushes to repair these channels by increasing blood flow, and depositing of both collagen and elastin. Restoring skin to its youthful appearance.
When combined these treatments give patients the youthful look they are trying to achieve. The PRP being applied prior to the Micro-Needling process allows for maximum penetration of the PRP, insuring the skin will heal exponentially faster, improving both texture and color. With no trace of scarring or bruising as with more invasive procedures. Leaving you with fresher, younger, glowing skin; All using your body’s own natural regenerative processes!
PRP for Hair Loss
Hair Loss affects many people, both male and female. Whether it be natural or after a surgical procedure. Luckily PRP can also be used in the treatment of hair loss! The same Platelet Rich Plasma is separated from the blood, and injected into the surgical site or the area of hair loss, in order to stimulate the growth of new hair cells! It can be done in two ways:
- First the PRP can be directly injected into the balding scalp. Considering PRP’s natural restorative nature and its ability to stimulate cellular repair/growth, PRP will begin to restore hair cells, and slow down the hair loss process!
- The second method is for PRP to be injected at the site of a newly transplanted hair follicle. Again, considering PRP’s regenerative nature, it will stimulate the stem cells (dermal papilla) of the newly transplanted hair follicles and allow hair to grow thicker and at a faster rate.
