Over 90% of women in the US deal with cellulite issues on a daily basis. Combating the ugly bulging, dimples and lumpy fatty deposits on the thighs, arms, stomach and backside; is an problem that no woman or man wants to deal with. At Goals Aesthetics we offer our patients a number of cellulite reduction techniques, both surgical and non-surgical options.
What is Cellulite?
Cellulite can develop on anyone, regardless of age, gender, size or shape. This unsightly condition occurs when enlarged packets of fatty deposits sit deep under the skin, they tend to inflate. As these packets inflate they rise to the surface of the skin and push their way to the skin’s surface. They force their way through layers of fibrous tissue that once kept your arms, legs, and midsection firm and well-contoured.
Despite being made of fatty deposits, cellulite itself is not a weight issue, and can appear in individuals who are slim and not overweight at all.
Cellulite Treatment Options
At Goals Aesthetics we offer a number of unique methods to deal with cellulite. The most common being:
- Mesotherapy: Rarely used in the US, mesotherapy has become popularized in parts of Europe and Asia. Developed as a means to deal with the pain and inflammation caused by skin issues such as eczema and psoriasis. Mesotherapy works by injecting substances similar to vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and certain enzymes into the sub-dermal tissue. Once these compounds are injected into the affected area, the dimples and fatty deposit begin to reduce and the stop pressing against the upper layer of skin tissue.
- Velashape: Velashape is a non-invasive body-contouring treatment meant for cellulite reduction. Typically, in 3 sessions or less, Velashape can help patients achieve a toned, well-contoured, slim body shape. Using a combination of infrared light, bi-polar frequency energy, and vaccum filtration the Velashape is the one of the most complete body toning systems.
The Infrared light penetrates below the skin, reaching subdermal fatty deposits, connective tissue, and collagen fibers, which cause cellulite. Once these deposits are heated they breakdown, and in conjunction with the vacuum, they stimulate the growth of fresh, new collagen and elastin. This creates more skin laxity, softer, more supple skin cells, and provides an overall improvement in skin structure and texture while breaking down the old deposits that caused a patient’s cellulite.
- PRP/Stem Cell Therapy: Platelet Rich Plasma technology or PRP, is a revolutionary new treatment for a number of different conditions. In the treatment of cellulite it works by completely rejuvenating the old fatty deposits that make up cellulite and replacing them with fresh new cells, using the body’s own naturally restorative nature.
First, we remove blood for the patient’s own body. Then this blood is spun around in a centrifuge at a rapid rate, this allows the plasma to be separated from the white blood cells. Once this occurs we reinject the platelet rich plasma into the treatment area (the area with cellulite). This causes the creation of stem cells within the body at the treatment site, causing the body to receive a signal to “repair a damaged area”. These stem cells form new connective tissue, and fibrous tissues, this destroys the cellulite and smooths out the patient’s body contours over time!
